This is a closeup of a model of a sailing ship. It was taken under rather adverse conditions – dim light, and the model was in a glass case that produced reflections – but for this frame all these things combined to give an image that is far more interesting than a technically ‘better’ photo could ever have been.
I used to be a scientist. Now I’m a photographer. The two activities have quite a bit in common: in both cases you’re trying to understand more about the world. Overall, I like being a photographer more.
I’m a very eclectic photographer: to get some idea of the range of styles and subject matter that I deal with see my website at www.AvidEyeImages.com.
