This is probably one of my first photos that I was really proud of as an “artist” or “photographer.” It was taken from the Staten Island Ferry on a dreary and drizzly day in New York City. The initial thing that caught my attention was the boat (as I photographed the scene), but after looking at it on the computer screen I realized that the background was truly amazing.
I really love how the skyscrapers are faded out from the fog, and their tops fall off into complete cloud cover by the top of the frame. And on a larger image (such as a print), you can see all the little people working on the boat.
